Faycal Bouguir is a multidisciplinary visual artist who divides his time between NY and various countries including in Europe, Mexico, and Brazil, following his inspiration. Born and raised in France to immigrant parents, his multicultural background informs his artistic exploration of identity, memory, and belonging through ceramics, printmaking, and photography.
Faycal’s recent work incorporates masks, Islamic geometric patterns, and alternative photographic processes including cyanotype. His extensive travels, particularly to the Amazon region, continuously nourish his artistic vision and conceptual development.
He has exhibited in group shows including “Viva La Memento Mori” at AHA Fine Art Gallery (2021) and LIC Arts Open (2019), and received distinction for his ceramic works at The Art Students League (2017). Faycal is a member of the EFA Robert Blackburn Printmaking Workshop and studied ceramics at The Art Students League (2016-2019). He holds a B.A. with First Class Honours in Graphic Design from Thames Valley University, London.
